Keep on Glowing – A Guided Journal by Robin Emtage
There’s something comforting about a guided journal that doesn’t make you feel like you have to completely reinvent yourself. Keep On Glowing is built around a much gentler idea: sometimes, you don’t need to become someone new, you simply need to reconnect with the person you already are.
After reading the author’s previous book, I was curious to see how those ideas would translate into a journal. The original book focuses on self-love, holistic wellness, mindset, confidence, and embracing the different chapters of womanhood. This journal takes those same themes and gives you a more personal space to actually sit with them.
I especially loved the emphasis on protecting your peace and setting boundaries, because that is how I operate day to day. And it’s been life-changing. The prompts strike a nice balance between reflection and action, while the daily check-ins and shorter exercises make it easy to pick up even when you don’t have the time or energy for a long journaling session. I also enjoyed the smaller features sprinkled throughout the journal. The Daily Glow Snapshots, mood and energy check-ins, affirmations, and Mini Glow Moments make it approachable on such days.
For me, the journal’s strongest message is that self-care doesn’t have to be elaborate to be meaningful. A ritual can be something small. Reflection doesn’t have to take an hour. Setting a boundary doesn’t make you selfish. And personal growth doesn’t always have to look dramatic from the outside.
