A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas

**May contain spoilers if you haven’t read A Court of Thorns and Roses and A Court of Mist and Fury.

A Court of Wings and Ruin is third in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series. Feyre is back in the Spring Court, however this time it’s not a homecoming. She is back as the High Lady of the Night Court, seeking revenge upon those who threatened the lives of her sisters, her mate, her family, and who are now threatening her world, Prythian.

Tamlin allied with the king of Hybern to get Feyre back. In turn, he promised to provide a passage through Spring Court for Hybern armies to take down the wall and attack the human lands. The war is inevitable. The only way Feyre, the Night Court, and the rest of the courts can deal with it is to know as many details of Hybern’s plan as possible and minimize the damage. Clearly, it is more difficult than it sounds. Feyre, now the wolf in sheep’s clothing at the Spring Court, has to take each and every step carefully to unravel Hybern’s plan.  She soon finds herself in the midst of powerful High Lords and their lethal politics, making every second challenging; whom to trust when the world is destined to its doom?

How did it make me feel?

When I read the first book in the series, it confused me as to why this series was EVERYWHERE. I enjoyed reading A Court of Thorns and Roses but I was not sure if it was worth the hype. What I didn’t know, was what awaited me in the forms of books 2 and book 3. My Goodness! I am absolutely blown away by A Court of Mist and Fury as well as A Court of Wings and Ruin.

What we get with A Court of Thorns and Roses is not even a teaser of what’s to come. The beautiful, exciting, tempting faerie world that this book takes you into, is an extraordinary feeling to experience as a reader. Probably the best thing about these books, for me, is the brilliant visual depiction of this fictional world, that makes you wish again and again that you were a part of it.

Something about Feyre…is it just me?

The only thing for me, and I believe many of you may find it weird, is that I am still not a fan of Feyre :O Is that weird? I have been with her for long enough in this journey and yet I find myself not loving her. I don’t hate her either but I thought by book 3 I will like her more. It hasn’t happened yet. I have asked myself why, many times. But I don’t have any concrete answers yet. It’s more of a feeling rather than something tangible.

I wonder why that is? I loved everybody else, even Nesta when she has been so hard to deal with, with her denial and outright rudeness towards everyone around her. I can relate to her, know where she is coming from, even when the story is not her POV. But with Feyre, from the very beginning, I am sort of detached from this character. Her emotions don’t hit me as hard as everybody else’s does! Is that cruel? 😐

I find it very interesting because this is probably the first time I love the book but don’t like the protagonist as much. I really want to hear how you perceive Feyre. Let me know in the comments!
