The Age of Simorgh by M.Riaziat

The Age of Simorgh is an intriguing exposition of the probable impacts of rapid technological advancements on humanity. This book is authored by M.Riaziat and was released on March 20, 2023.

While the widely perceived view of the rapidly advancing technologies today is laced with fear and uncertainties, The Age of Simorgh attempts to provide a fresh and rather positive perspective of the possible future. Be it artificial intelligence, robotics or the concepts like Neuralink, the general underlying fear of ‘machines taking over humans’ is on full display, especially today. However, this notion may not be necessarily true. The Age of Simorgh takes us down the path that provides a glimpse of an entirely new world in the wake of the technological pinnacle. The world where humans and machines evolve together, to give birth to a new organism known as SIMORGH: Sovereign IntelliMatic Organization of Humans.

How did it make me feel?

I was interested in picking up The Age of Simorgh because I had recently completed a university course relating to AI automation, and I was intrigued by the subject matter of this book. And I’m so glad that I did! In this book, author Riaziat has not only shown us that a utopian future may be ahead of us but what’s really interesting is how he has meticulously analyzed each and every aspect of it. From the impact on the governing bodies to the education system, the infrastructures, from the basic, elemental things like water management to the possible contact of Simorgh to the extraterrestrial beings, Riaziat has covered it all and well, with a terrific level of detail and illustrations.

This is a truly thought-provoking read that makes you wonder about the possibilities that lie ahead for humankind. They are endless and exciting. I believe I’ll be picking this one up time and again, to gauge how close we are to The Age of Simorgh.
